I drove my 85 t-bird for 3 years without a front plate and cops never said a thing
so theres no way I'll put one on the front even though the dealer put those holes in the bumper
and I'm in Texas

BTW is there any where I could get a stock bumper without the stupid holes

Haven't put it on yet...NYS does require one. One trooper told me to put it on at a "spot check" at the thruway toll booth but no tickets yet!?!?!? I've had it for two years now.

can we say that the way our cars look is free speech and should be protected by the 1st ammendment

For those who are afraid of putting holes in their bumper I got a plate mount off of ebay that slides onto the back of the bumper. Check the pic to see how it's mounted.

Not when you live in a state (CALI) where the vehicle code states that it the DMV issues two plates for a vehicle then you must display both of them in order to be in compliance with the law. LOL! Funny though...the only place I have ever been popped for no front plate was in Baker on my way to Vegas.

My 05 GT had the holes drilled already....so I'm in compliance. Personally I think the plate centered in the front bumper looks as OK as its gonna get. I saw a new stang the other day with the front plate mounted (somehow) on the passenger side of the bumper. Looked weird!

running two cars in a two-plate state each car having one plate on the rear bumper and one plate in the trunk.

As it should be. Tough convincing the dealers NOT to mount the front plates prior to delivery, though!

i actually want to take the front plate off and put one of those polished plates with the pony on it. But living here in cali i am to afraid to do it. They actually pulled me over for not having one on my other car about a year ago. The funny thing was is that i had it in the window and the cop still didnt car and he said he couldnt see it.
