Problems w/ cdc hood struts install

I bolted up the brackets as directed, slap the struts on (does it matter which end of the strut faces up?) close the hood and the passenger side edge of the hood sticks way up. Also, since I painted the brackets, I can see where it's scraping the paint off. It looks like it's hitting the strut. I am getting frustrated on such a quick and easy mod. Did anybody else have a problem with theres? I can't seem to get the damn things right. No problem on the drivers side. hood is flat all the way down, only a very little scrape on that side

I looked at a picture I had from before the struts and it looks like the hood is still lifted higher. But the hood is even higher w/ the struts in. I'm wondering if thats causing the strut and brackets to hit. Is there a way to lower the back edge of the hood?

Ok, so no one has the cdc strut kit installed?

I do but I have no problems with mine, the hood dose hold high when opened but I do not see it scraping or scratching anything. I can say I have seen people with diffrent strut kits have the hood slide back a bit when refitting it to the car. Its like dark now but in the morning I can try to take some pics to show you what I mean.

+1.
I've got em installed, but never had any issue like this. There was a post awhile back where someone was having trouble getting their hood bolt to start threading, and it ended up being that they needed to hold the hood down tight against the new bracket to start threading the bolt. Any chance that your back hood bolt is loose, allowing the hood to float up??

Can you post pics from a couple of angles?
That might help us spot a problem.
All I can think of is you put them under the stock hood hinges.

Humbolt....? do you mean between the actual hood metal and the hinge or between the hinge and the bolts? The pic looks like the just go under the bolts and not the hinge....
Hmmmm what happenned to the pic ??

Correct, but I'm just guessing as to how this problem could occur.
If they are under the hinges it might explain it.
Or they're upside down, wrong side, etc.
