Just got done installing my new FFRP Supreme Performace axle-backs (The same ones they use on the new Shelby GT.) I LOVE them! My car is a daily driver and I wasn't looking for anything too loud. They are a tad louder than stock, and sound much better at WOT. Interestingly enough, you really can't hear any difference inside the car between the stock mufflers and the new Shelby's. If I can get over the smell for the next few days, I am going to love them!

I bought them from my local Ford dealership, Brandon Ford. They were $325 and I installed them myself.

I also put a set on this past week-end. Still undecided if I like the way they sound at idle but sound pretty good at WOT. Had alot of trouble putting them in though as I had to grind the slots slightly on both inlets and bend both rear hanger rods to get them centered in the cut-outs.(After loosening the H pipe clamps) The ends of the tips were also dinged in a few spots as delivered (poor packing).

They will 'season' a bit after you get some miles on them. I can hear mine @ cruise now, when before they were same as stock @ first.Love the sound, not too loud, but an improvement over stock by far.Keepers for me.The clip on Ninosports is pretty close.

I assume these mufflers are chambered internally with no packing of any kind, so why would they become louder with time?

Your guess is as good as mine Vega, but i've heard that from severl people that have these axle-backs. I would assume it is them "breaking in".
