Default RE: Hood Pins

I agree with the needing hood pins, I have a Cervini's fiberglass hood which definitely needs hood pins, I can be fine with driving about 65mph but if I take it to the track or ever get above 80 it shakes pretty bad. On the factory hoods there is really no chance of the latch giving out and the hood flying up because of how strong the hindge is mounted to the hood. On the other hand on a fiberglass hood it is easier for the bolts under pressure to slowly strip out and eventually give and then say bye bye to the hood.

My opinion and strong recommendation on any aftermarket hood for these cars is to run a set of hood pins.

Your kidding me right? last time i checked hood pins actually help keep the hoods from flying up while driving at high speed...

Hood pins are really only decoration these days so I would say go with which ever you like the look of more. I tend to like the Steeda pins as I think they look more authentic. I also really liked the shelby pins http://www.shelbyautos.com/ShowDetail.asp?id=31 although the cable can get a little annoying at high speed.

I have the Ford Racing pins. Came from Jegs. I used allen capscrews from Home Depot and trashed the phillips screws.
Had to drill out the holes and use nuts on the backsides though. I'll cut off the excess someday...
