Honda CRX-great little car
Mitsubishi Eclipse Turbo - actually pretty fast

Nissan Maxima (don't ask why)
Current Mustang (so far so good)
You have to guess my age.

I see some older guys drivin down the road in newer mustang and I still nod or wave respectfully. Only thing that angers me is not when they're driving slow, but when you wave or nod and they give you a dirty look.

44 here. I've been driving Mustangs since I could buy them. I've had an '83, an '88 and now an '06. I didn't buy the '06 to recapture anything, it's more of a continuation of what I love. I knew I needed a new car, and there was nothing else I could seriously consider without feeling like I was selling myself out. These are reliable cars for how much fun they are.

RE: Old Fart Syndrome, Anyone Else
Happy B-day. I'm 41. No midlife crisis, I just enjoy having fun. It's funny this post came up today. My brother and I were both over at my parents this afternoon. We both got our 2006 GTs within 1 month of each other (mine black on black, his throwback Windevil blue). I had told him earlier this spring that I was thinking of getting a GT, and the next thing I new he beat me to it. On a whim he bought one in early summer. I got mine early July. We both love talking about them and how we enjoy to drive them.
Today my mother was complaining about how some 50-60 y/o in a hot red Corvette that cut her off today. She didn't know why older people over 50 get hot sports cars, prehaps to "look cool or impress girls". She quickly backtracked and said that black or blue sports cars like ours were ok. We both replied that it wasn't about girls, midlife crisis, or looking cool - it was just fun and reminded us of how fun these cars were when we were younger, but couldn't afford them.
Enjoy your ride.

Hey - I'm not too old fart - only 41 - my Dad is 72 and has 5 sitting in his stable including my 67 still there - and I just bought my 07 GT and I love it... my boyfriend says I sound like a kid who just got their license - I have gotten a few of those mid life comments myself - I don't believe mid life has anything to do with it.... I believe it is just as simple as you've wanted it for years and now you can afford to get what you WANT (in fact I ordered exactly what I wanted) not just what you NEED.....

RE: Old Fart Syndrome, Anyone Else
Same here. Fifty-eight and, except for a VW Beetle which I used for cheap transportion in Berlin in the mid-late seventies, each of the 19 cars I've owned has been either a bonified "Muscle Car", i.e., Road Runner, GTX, 340 Demon, Corvettes, Mr2 Turbos, etc. My 07 Mustang is just a continuation of what is normal for me, and will be for as long as I drive. There is definitely a new Supra in my plans as soon as Toyota get them here. Love the Mustang; great "bang for the buck."
