Old Fart Syndrome, Anyone Else

RE: Old Fart Syndrome, Anyone Else
Happy Bday dude I just got my midlife crisis Mustang on the 15th. I will be 49 in January, so I am a little early. It's not the old dudes in hot cars that I cringe at, its the little old ladies driving the cars worth more than I can make in 2 years. [:'(] btw the 1967 Mustang parked next to my 2007 Mustang I got when I was 17. fd

I'm only 35 and I get the same "mid-life crisis?" comments on the mustang. I tell 'em no, that will be when I'm 40 and I go for the 'Vette. [sm=smiley24.gif]

With the Vette, I got mid life crisis, the usual comments....with the Mustang, I've gotten alot more positive comments, people love this car!

I'm 47. Part of the reason that there are so many of us middle age people owning Mustangs is because we can afford them and the insurance. The Mustang GT is not the bargain that it originally started out as. If I were in my 20's today, I don't think I could afford this car plus the insurance like I could with my first Mustang GT in 1982. What a shame. Many younger people are stuck thinking their Honda Civics are performance cars. If they only knew.

I always say you're only as old as you feel. Soon to be 46, seems like I've always driven cars that keep things young. Yeah, there are always those that will chuckle when they see you behind the wheel, but too bad. Two ingredients needed: it should look good, and be fun to drive. Not much beats the good feeling everytime you hop in behind the wheel of a nice sports car.
First, a used 1978 Camaro- 305 V8, 4 speed manual, white, polycast wheels, black vinyl interior. Then, a new 1990 Firebird- 3.1 V6, auto, white, gray cloth, Trans AM package (front end, rear end, side skirts). Next, a new 2001 Camaro- 3.8 V6, auto, maroon, loaded with T-tops, Z-28 package (wheels, steering, rear end, exhaust). Looked great, but couldn't get a rear end leak fixed after about 5 trips, and it handled like a pig, so I left the dark side a few months ago for my 2006 V6 Premium Tungsten Grey 5 speed manual with IUP.
Haven't looked back, and I love this car... everytime I get in to drive.
