I have had Chevrolet all my life. My first car was a 1957 BelAir 2-door and many more after that. My last was a '97 Z71 I really liked. When I saw the first pictures of them in 2004 I thought that when I was ready for a new car it would be a Mustang. I sat in a '06 at the the Texas State Fair last year and I was hooked. I had to make some financial decisions and sold a couple Chevrolets to make it happen. I bought my '07 last month and have not looked back. I Love It!!!

It took a hell of a Mustang to make me sell my Chevy's. This is the ONE!!!

80% Looks
10% Price
10% Color Combination

I'm 45 and was a big fan of the early Mustangs from inception through the early 70's (all before I could even drive). That fanship being primarily one based on looks (I didn't know much about performance, but they looked like they had it). My older brother had a '68 and a '71. I got to ride a lot in the '68 and really thought it was cool (I love the retro cowl dash they put in these '05's+ that reminds me so much of that car).

While the '04's and prior by just a few years "started" to turn my head towards Mustangs again, it was when I saw my first '05 design when I couldn't help but stare and say to myself, "Now THAT'S a Mustang!". I had to have one and wound up with my '06 V6 Automatic after my '05 Mercury Sable was turned into a golfball by a freak hail storm!

In a nutshell. I love how they combined a variety of the more popular aspects of retro Mustang design and congealed this amalgamation into a contemporary look. It is what the Mustang should've evolved into some time ago IMHO.

The new 'stang reminds me of the '67 I had in college but updated with all the improved technology. I had been thinking about getting a "play car" for the last few years, e.g. older mustang, 'vette, camero, etc. Then I saw the new Mustang and was hooked.

If I had bought an old classic muscle car, it would have taken mucho $$$$ in upgrades to get it even close to the new 'stang stock, so I decided to get this car, use it for my DD until the loan is paid off, then make it the play car...and who knows, maybe a few years later I'll get a matching '67 too

The Muscle Cars / Pony Cars from the mid 60’s to the early 70’s are some of the best looking cars ever made. I had been waiting for so long for a car to be designed with that kind of style, so when Ford unveiled the Mustang concept in ’03 for the ’05 model year, I was instantly hooked. It really wouldn’t have mattered to me what was under the hood because horsepower can always be bolted on, but you can’t do much with a bland exterior. Now I’m just waiting for the Challenger in ’08!

Its a FORD product which is a must in my family and its the best looking modern muscle car IMO i know that the GTO has a little bit more in the performance category but they look like somethin id pick up the kids from daycare in. There is so much you can do with the mustang there are tons of aftermark parts for it ... i just love it wouldnt trade it for anything unless you want to offer a new GT500 then hit me up

Love mine. Got it for 60% looks (love the retro look inside and out), 10% gas mileage (hey she runs on regular and gets 300HP 10% power she is quick, and 10% reliability (the v8 is actually recomended by consumer reports). It is a fun ride any way you buy it v6 or v8.

Best Mustang to come out in over 30 years, looks, 300 base HP(in the GT) and a modern chassis(finally). The thing is, you either love it or are stuck with New Edge jealousy(know many New Edge owners who go out of their way to say the S197 is A) Ugly B) A fat pig C)Too big). My favorite 'Stangs of all time? 1) '65/'66 GT350 2) '07 GT500/'67-'68 GT500/'69-'70 Boss 302/429 3) 68 1/2 Cobra Jet GT 4) '71 Boss 351 5) S197 GT 6)Any year Fox body Saleen 7) '93 Cobra/Cobra R 8)'00 Cobra R 9) '69-'70 Shelbys 10) Terminator. I know, that isn't the question, but I felt like writing them down. If you noticed my list has every body style save for the deucer(Pintostang) and the SN95(although # 11 would be the '95 Cobra R). Tell your Pop to get the '07 Shelby GT(will soon replace the "normal" S197 GT on my list), that's gonna be a sweet ride IMO.[sm=icon_cheers.gif]

ORIGINAL: Arwing

When I was 13 or 14 and i saw what the new Mustang was gonna look like. I knew that would be my first car. So pretty much the body style.
Same story here.

I loved them so much I got two....

Most performance for the money and the best mods on the planet. I actually traded in an 89 911c4 for this car. I get more compliments on this then I did on the porsche. And I can actually work on it myself.

always owned a GM first car 96 Olds achieva. 2nd was an 02 Impala Followed by a 04 LS Impala. Ended up getting a job with Ford and felt like a traitor to GM for it. Aftrer aboutr two months of working there I was pretty sure on getting an F-150. Liked the lariat supercrews alot. ONe day I decided that I would want to drive the mustang on my own instead of on test drives. Been thinkin bout an F-150 for about a month drove the mustang for 30. The rest was history. 40 LOOKS. 40 POWER AND 20 PRICE.
