comon i know theres more kids with pics out there...
I will get some pictures of mine up in a bit, my car is dirty right now, it's been raining here non-stop for the better part of three weeks (Vancouver, Canada).

And you guys think your insurance is bad, I've been on the road for five years (I'm 21), and I still pay $4200 a year for insurance with a completely clear driving record (no accidents).

i guess i'm just kind of amazed that some of you that are in your teens can make enough (10K or so) to just plop down at the dealership. i mean, when i was 16, i was making a little more than minimum wage (4.75/hr) and it would have taken well over a year with working at least 30-40hr weeks to get that kind of cash after taxes. hell, even on salary i pulled in just enough to throw down a 10k down-payment and still have a tiny bit left over when i was around 21.

times and the economy have changed of course and i make quite a bit more per hour than i ever have but still, you're 16, getting into your first real time job and you can just pull 10,000 out of your account like that. i guess i am missing something.
My parents tell me stories of how they thought they were making a ton of money at $1.50 an hour. My mom bought her first car for $400. Times have definately changed. I knew that I would be buying all or most of my car when the time came so I got a job as early as I could. This past summer was my 8th summer with a job and I'm only 17. It sounds kind of out there but I knew that I had to start early. It was a very small part time job selling ice cream at the beach, but I made close to $1000 my first summer at age 10. Since then I have gotten a new full time job during the summer working between 35 and 45 hours a week. I've made several thousand dollars each summer making my beauty possible.

For kids, insurance sucks EVERYWHERE! S2Charlie, how much are
you paying for yours? I pay $3,300 a year for mine,
Oh man...mine's under 800 bucks a year...my daughter will be 16 soon, so guess she will be driving my jeep afterall. I was planning on buying her a stang for her birthday as well, but not with those rates! I have 4 cars and a motorhome insured for less than you pay.
What state do you live in? You might be able to get some good rates in some states depending on what you get in the stang. Here in Jersey, as a 17-year-old male with a 2007 V6 it's upwards of $5000.

I live in texas.....wow, that upward of $5,000 sure does make
my $3,300 a year sound a little better.
