I'm going to hear it from you dudes & dudettes for this...but the cars I had before this one are the following...
1992 Infiniti G20
2000 Infiniti G20t
2002 Altima 2.5L
2003 Altima 3.5L V6
I did press the gas towards the end of the turn....and it was not that tight.

All front wheel drive i'm guessing. Try driving your altima in reverse around that same turn and hit the gas.

Hey Manystyles, one of the things that P zero is something that I always think about when I drive in the rain and that's the fact that when it first starts raining, it brings all the oils up out of the road. So it's always the most slippery when it first starts raining. After awhile the rain gets ahead of the oils and starts to wash them away. It sounds like you lost traction due to some excess oil on the road if your tires are that new. I wouldn't think they would break away at that speed from just water unless you really got on the throttle. Just watch it for the first few minutes when it first starts raining since that's the worst. Don't hit a guard rail bro!

with 21,000 miles and a full winter of Alaska driving on our 2006 Convertible GT I have this to say about your comments.
For a RWD car the Mustang gets around very well with good tires. There is a learning curve when going from FWD to RWD or from AWD to either FWD/RWD. A basic stock Mustang is very perdictable as to when the rear end is going to kick out on you due to wheels spin. (aggressive throttle) If you almost had a wreck because YOU almost hit a wall, HOW IS IT THE CARS FAULT? YOU were driving it was FOLLOWING your lead. Please learn to drive your car before blameing it because it handles differently then you are 'used' to. (you actually sounded EXACTLY like my 17 yr old daughter)
BUT
Now add 200 plus HP and well this year the GT is parked for the winter as there is no 'winter' tire we have found that will not just loose traction as soon as the engine starts to build revs at almost ANY speed! Now in addition to less then desirable surface traction. When we changed over to the winter tires, the step from 285x30x20 to 235x45x17 might also add to this smear of black rubber that was constantly showing up behind our car.
All that being said the Mustang is very fun to 'hang the rear end out' around corners. I was just teaching the V6 how to do it last week! lol!

these Pirellis that came stock on the stangs absolutely suck in the rain. i can't tell you how many time i hydroplaned on the freeway at 70 mph. going around corners, accelerator is flat. don't even think of blipping the throttle unless you want to park in the gutter.
be careful when it rains and keep that white horse white.
