Default I missed slamming into a wall by 1 foot today...

The handling on this car is really starting to annoy me. This happened to me once before, but it was my fault. Today on the other hand, it was totally not my fault. The road was a little slick from the rain last night, I was making a turn at about 25MPH and my car fish-tailed 3 times before I took control of the car and missed a wall by 1 foot. I think this car is one of the most horrible handling cars I've ever driven in my life. That's my opinion and yes I know I can change my suspension blah blah blah...but 25MPH!!!! That's terrible. I think a Dodge Neon can handle a turn better. Maybe I'm mad cause I almost **** my pants but still...I think this car should be able to handle something like that. Thanks for listening to my crap. I really did think I was going to smash up the front of my baby.

BTW...this was on the way to drop my car off at my tinting specialist so I can get my front windows re-tinted and Moleskin added. He also sold me on some new 3M film for the front window. It's clear, but blocks a **** load of sun almost completely to protect the interior. It's made out of this new substance their testing and I'm the test dummy. It should be out on the market in 6 months (if my car doesn't blow up or something). It gives the front windshield a weird hue too like what the Porsches and Benzes have in Europe.

I'm surprised.. I think this car handles as good or better than other cars i've owned in the rain (with TCS on). As long as you don't get on it in turns (which you aren't supposed to do anyway). Like someone else said, maybe it was oil or something.
And yes.. a neon will handle differently in the rain because it is front wheel drive. A rear wheel drive car will always want to swing it's rear out... especially with 300 HP. That's just the way it is. Once you get used to it, and learn to correct automatically, it will feel natural. I like the feel of live axle rear wheel drive.. and prefer it to front wheel drive.

I took a sharp right at 40 in a light rain and she held beautifully...I was impressed. What tires are you running and how many miles are on them. Good tires make all the difference as I sure you know..Did you have you traction control off??

Maybe it WAS something on the road. I had TCS on and I have the stock tires that come with the stock polished 18's. I only have about 1250 miles on my car. I guess I'm going to be overly cautious in the rain, snow etc... going forward. [&:]

Dude, you said yourself the road was slick, Im going to assume you were going around a 90* turn. Is this your first mustang? First higher HP car? First RWD car? I learned really quickly that mustangs are VERY squirrely in bad weather conditions. Also, VERY important are your TIRES. How much tread is on your tires? If you live in an area that gets A LOT of bad weather(rain or snow) Id reccommend you get tires that are suited for those conditions.
Also, keep in mind that rain brings up oils, and tar thats usually embedded deep into the asphalt and usually sits on top of the road, therefore making even more slick.
-P.
PS: When weathers bad drive like Morgan Freeman in driving miss daisy.

Well we really need to know what other cars you've driven to consider your opinion even remotely valid. Did it start fish tailing when you pressed the gas coming out of the turn? How tight of a turn was it?

I really don't want to ask any more until I know your background.

NOT a horribly handling car at all. Really sounds like driver error to me. So don't be so harsh on the car.

Wow, I'm a little surprised to hear it got this squirrely on you with the TCS on.
