hood struts

For those of you that helped me with my hood strut decision, I went with MRT. They were very easy to install and look great. I am surprised how high the hood opens though. I was wanting to prop the hood up half way during car shows without using a stick.
My next project is to have custom graphics painted on my hood scoop, to personalize my car. I don't like any of the decals. I have found an awesome artist here in Kansas, so if it doesn't cost me the farm, I will go with him. I just need to decide what design to do. Any suggestions? Something tasteful and without overkill..

IF I can put my struts back together, I will use them with a safety strap on the hood. $2,000 in damages due to the hood flying into the windshield....nice headwind at Byron Dragway...

Oh crap! Thats why I got the hood struts because everyone told me the wind will blow the hood up using the rod. Well that kind of defeats the purpose now doesn't it...

Did the hood fly up while driving? So the struts had nothing to do with this right?

Isn't that what hood pins are for?

I have some struts that I'll be putting on a new hood, but I was also thinking that hood pins would be there to help keep it over the engine, and not fly off.
