hood struts
For those of you that helped me with my hood strut decision, I went with MRT. They were very easy to install and look great. I am surprised how high the hood opens though. I was wanting to prop the hood up half way during car shows without using a stick.
My next project is to have custom graphics painted on my hood scoop, to personalize my car. I don't like any of the decals. I have found an awesome artist here in Kansas, so if it doesn't cost me the farm, I will go with him. I just need to decide what design to do. Any suggestions? Something tasteful and without overkill.. |
RE: hood struts
IF I can put my struts back together, I will use them with a safety strap on the hood. $2,000 in damages due to the hood flying into the windshield....nice headwind at Byron Dragway...

RE: hood struts
Oh crap! Thats why I got the hood struts because everyone told me the wind will blow the hood up using the rod. Well that kind of defeats the purpose now doesn't it...

RE: hood struts
Isn't that what hood pins are for?
I have some struts that I'll be putting on a new hood, but I was also thinking that hood pins would be there to help keep it over the engine, and not fly off. |
