GOT IT !!! question on vinyl
Well folks, it finally happened. I just purschased my FIRST GT. a 2005, torch red, premium interior, with only 5K miles. Got it for $23,000 and I was able to pay it cash, HOORRRAAAYYYYY.
I cant wait to get vinyl stipes put on it (white ones), can anyone with 3m stipes give me the load down good/bad on how they stand up to the sun and normal wear and tear? I apologize if this issues has been debated before.
thanks, PXDIG

RE: GOT IT !!! question on vinyl
3M has some good quality vinyl. They also have some intermediate vinyl that isn't as good as others. If you do go with 3M make sure you get 3M 220 series. That is there high quality vinyl. Other companies also carry high quality vinyl in ex. there is Avery's A9 that is a 9 year vinyl, and Oracal 851 series which is good for 10 years in black or white and 8 years for other colors. Just remember if you use any type of specialty vinyl like metalics, chrome, reflective, or carbon fiber vinyl, they have a much shorter life expectancy. I prefer Oracal over the 3M. Many people like 3M becuase of the name and they recognize it. Don't get me wrong, they do make good quality vinyl but I just prefer Oracal. It is easier to work with and still is just as long lasting.

RE: GOT IT !!! question on vinyl
I am not sure. It wouldn't hurt to send them an email. I believe the 3M intermidiate film is 7125. 3M has a great high quality vinyl (220) but their intermediate vinyl isn't the best. Like I said before I prefer Oracals 651 over the 7125. It is still a 6 year vinyl and that is usually longer than most people have their cars. If you do use the 220 be careful when installing, because is is a thinner vinyl, but it does look cleaner when installed.
