There’s a noise coming from the dash of my new 2007 Mustang, V6 with auto. It sounds like the fan is on even when it’s not. It’s kind of a high pitched whirring sound that increases with speed, as if more air is being forced into the air vents. Again, this is when the fan and air are off. Has anyone had this same noise and if so have you found what’s causing it?

Your front window seal is leaking.................Mine did the same thing till i had the front window seal resealed.

Are your air vents open?
If you close all 4 of them it can produce a whistling sound as you drive down the freeway! Gotta keep at least 2 of them open.
i know that you can hear the fan even with it set on the lowest speed, but when you turn the position selector to the 12 o'clock position it should shut down.
What front window seal gave the problem? Are you talking about the windshield?

We had a similar sound and it seemed to be coming from the dash too. Turned out after they secured the exhaust hangers the sound was gone. Go figure [8D]
