covered under warranty???

This is my first new car so I'm not real clear as to what is covered under warranty and what is not. The lever on the back of the passenger's seat broke off when I lifted it to tilt the seat forward to let my daughter in the back. Will they replace this for free or is this something where I'm on my own?

You are probably on your own since you flat out broke it off. I guess you know now not to put that much muscle into it...

That's what I was afraid of. I barely even lifted it.

This will be covered by the warranty. This definitely shouldn't have broken off this easily.

I bet they will fix it under warranty, take it in and find out. And long as the seat does'nt look like you have been abusing it, they should fix it.

ditto! They shouldn't even hassle you about it.

3yr/36,000 bumper-to-bumper. My son's friend broke mine off after a few weeks, got a new one from Ford no problem. I since use the lever on the side of the seat, the rear ones are weak.

It should be covered under warranty, it didn't break by abuse. I had the same knob break off and it was covered.
