Default Clutch woes

Well it appears I am having some issues with my clutch. I have an 06 GT manual trans with only 6800 miles on it. Here's the situation:

In 3rd, 4th, and 5th gear, between 2500-3000 rpms only, if I stomp hard on the gas my rpms jump by 2000 for about 2-3 seconds before returning to normal acting just as if I downshifted for a couple seconds. To me, and everyone else I have talked to, this sounds like the clutch is slipping. The real question to me though is how the hell is my clutch going bad after just 6800 miles? a) I am not a moron and know how to shift properly, b) I did not learn on this car and went for 80k+ miles on my last manul trans and never had an issue with the clutch, and c) it's only 6800 miles!

Anyone else had any issues like this with their clutch? If I do have to replace I'm just gonna upgrade it since I will have to if I ever end up being able to afford a supercharger in the future.

Default RE: Clutch woes

I've burnt my clutch several times by riding it to long in second gear. once the pedal got stuck down, that didn't smell to good. Mine still doesn't slip.

Did your previous vehicle have this much horsepower? It quite possible that on your previous vehicle the way you shift wouldn't wear out the clutch, but on this one it will.

I to am going to upgrade my clutch when I install a turbo/supercharger or even nitrous, but i'm shooting for one of the first two options.
