Tremec? G-force? Have you called them and asked if they have any available?

Why do you want a .82 fifth gear? Wouldn't that basically kill any overdrive you have left? Just curious. I think the 3650 is avail with a .74 5th gear.

I dont want overdrive thats exactly the point, when I put 5th my rpms drop 2 much on that long gear thus usually thats where I loose ground.

upgrade to 4.30 or 4.56 gears, and even then, you will still have some overdrive

it would probably be just as cheap to swap in a t56, then you have a .80 5th gear, and a .5 6th gear

Would a t-56 be a drop-in? and for how much do you think I could get one @?

D&D has a viper T-56 kit for 5k that is made for the S197. It will be able to handle 650 lb-ft of tq( I think) . But if you call them and ask I believe they can make a cobra /viper hybrid setup for you. As far as I know its an all inclusive drop in setup to include a 1 pc driveshaft and a new crossmember for the tranny. Def something on my wishlist. I've heard of guys running 4.30s behind blowers and still running 1500-1700 RPM at 80 in 6th, But I guess this isn't what your looking for. But I'd def ask them about they're cobra/viper hybrid setup that way maybe you could have the best of both worlds. But if your willing and able to fab your own stuff to make a T-56 work in a S197 I've seen T-56s for sale as low as 1700 and on average 2K.
