Default Remove Interior Winshield Moulding, 2005 Mustang Convertible

I have a 2005 Mustang Convertible. I'm installing an electronic mirror and would like to hide the wiring underneath the winshield moulding. Does anyone know how to remove this moulding?

Check the main 05-06-07 page under informational documents, there is a pdf there with interior trim info from the service manual, and give it some more time for people to respond, sometimes it takes more than a couple hours for someone to notice the post, also the search function works wonders.

Make sure you have a good body shop or the dealer do it for you. I have a convertible too.

I've been considering this as well, trying to decide if I can do the install myself and buy the mirror from one of the sponsors -- www.partscheap.com -- so I'm interested in how the install goes for you. (I also have a convertible -- and one thing I miss from my Explorer is the automatic dimming mirror at night).

Amen JimC. When the vert is down and the mirror is flipped up all I see are street lights or the moon. The verts should come with an auto dimming mirror because the tilt up only works against a dark top and many times there is no dark top.

I have something like this on our convertible too it works great too ..... Oh, other people would call it a Saleen Supercharger!! It's a little harder to install and costs a bit more but WOW does it work well for dimming head lights in the mirror!

Turns out that removing the right side A-Pillar cover is simple, just pry down gently with a screw driver or other flat object and it will pop open. Installing the mirror and routing the electrical wires is simple after that. Finding a way to route the temperature sensor from the front of the car back into the passenger area was a pain. I finally brought it back through a rubber boot on the lower firewall near the smart junction box. I'll do the final hookup tonight (hopefully). If I had known exactly how to do everything, it would have taken a couple of hours - instead of several days!

The unit I bought is a Gentex 50-GENK20. You can find them lot's of places on the web.
