Just throwing this out there. What do you think of a tip shaped like this?

As another option, how about oval tips instead of circular?

Don't like those tips. What I would like to see is an angled tip, with an internal bevel (not rolled) in a nice machined stainless steel (not chrome), almost like brushed aluminum. Too many chrome tips out there already. Machined stainess in a satin finish would look great!

05bluegt,

did you see the MRT's?, They would look pretty good. Here's how they looked when they were on my car.

Don't like these, it looks like someone bottomed out the car.

The only problem is that my wife wants her ride quiet. If I can convince her to change, I'll keep you in mind. Why you swapping out?

I have a 2006 GT Convertible. The stock tail pipe is 9 3/8 long, from the muffler face to the top side of the slashed tip. This would be the longest side. The tip is 5/8" from the body surrounding the tip. I would prefer a tip that is 3 3/4 " in diameter, no less and in round or rolled edge, polished or chrome. I would only buy this tip if it is larger in diameter than the one offered by Ford. I would pay a fair price for a quality item. I have found that most 3" tips will not slide over the stock 3" diameter pipe. They have to be slightly larger. Thanks. It also must be a bolt on application!

IMO the stainless tip that is on the Ford racing set of axle backs is perfect. They are 4 inches and the Ford script is a nice touch. Unfortunately they are attached to a set of mufflers made by Borla. Borla makes a quality product. However, if Ford had demanded that Borla make a set of mufflers that have a resonance at 2500 rpms, they couldn't have done a better job then what they have made by accident. I'm almost 50 but the droning that kicks in at 2500 rpm is maddening. I'm switching back to the stock mufflers and then looking to add a stainless set of tail pipes. Yeah I'm old, but the sound that comes from my 70 Mach with flow masters is a lot sweeter, and without any drone. Of course thats push rods and lifters producing the sound as well.

Your Right! I've seen those tips on those mufflers and they are exactly what I want. No Drone, They don't make a set of mufflers without drone today. The stock set has a nice sound.
