Default Need your help - Development of new Mustang Exhaust Tips!

Hi Everyone,

We are looking into having a new exhaust tip developed that will work with the stock muffler and bumper cover opening. We need your help to understand what you would like to see and to confirm some dimensions.

Dimensions:

Based on another thread, we understand the exhaust tubing inlet must be slip over 3"
Based on another thread, we understand the overall length of the exhaust tip must be 9-10 "

We still need someone to take some measurements of the actual cut out diamter in the rear bumper cover.
We need someone to tell us the longest and shortest the exhaust tip can be to still look good.

Decisions:

What type of tip do you want to see?

Options are: round with rolled edge, round with slash cut rolled edge, something ovalized, *any other ideas* ?
Material: We would want to stick with T304 stainless steel but there is the option of polished or black stainless (which is polished but with a targer overall tint to it)
Outlet size: Most seem to be 3.5" outlet. Do you want to stick with of go for 4" outlet? I am not 100 % sure 4" will fit with the stock muffler but if someone can verify the dimensions, we can do it.

Price point: What is a reasonable expectation for a pair of tips like this to cost to the consumer? Keep in mind, these will be made in the U.S.A and not some off sore junk from overseas

Your input is appreciated!

Is that a tip already available in the sizing you want or a tip that you like that is not available in the correct sizing?

30-40 each so 60-80 per pair?

Thanks!

I'm not sure if they fit right now "as is." I don't know the stock diamters etc...

I would think $30 or $40 dollars each would be a reasonable price for polished stainless steel. My opinion.

This just has to be a coincidence. My wifes car was hit by a deer a couple of months ago and had a Street Scene body kit put on. Since she don't want to replace the mufflers and the factory exhaust outlets are too narrow to look good, I was looking for something to slip over the original tip but looks good. I was thinking of a rolled tip and cut straight. I think 3.5 inches would be large enough but you would be able to go to 3.75 to 4 inches. I would pay $60-70 a pair as long as they looked good.

Here is sample of what her car looks like with the stock exhaust and the body kit.

I think something like the 66 GT exhaust tip would look sweet on the new model!

Just throwing this out there. What do you think of a tip shaped like this?

As another option, how about oval tips instead of circular?
