I have a TomTom One and really like it. Agreed, it's maps are not 100% accurate, but I'm not sure if anyone can claim that. The point is, if it can't get you to the door, it can get you to the street or nearest intersection, which works great.
It's kind of like a cell phone, yeah, you can't get coverage everywhere in America, but 90% of the time it's pretty good.
As far as price goes, I paid $299 for mine. Best Buy had it on sale for $399 and TomTom is offering a $100 mail in rebate on their website.

A Tom Tom sounds really interesting. I have no idea how this works, do you pay a monthly fee to download maps and set up a yearly agreement or something? Or, can you download a map from your computer at home before you go somewhere? Or how? Thanks in advance.

And my G-Tech Pro meter, which is basically like having a Christmas tree, dynamometer, and lateral G's meter all rolled into one, is made to suction cup to the window.

Do you guys find it hard to drive and watch the screen on your GPS. I'll get one when the prices come down, which they are doing pretty quickly.

Garmin makes a literallly perfect (works better than any factory nav I have used) 7" screen semi-portable unit. Over 1200 bucks, but really nice. I installed one in a friends car, not a mustang though. We made brackets and hard-mounted it to the console with a remote antenna up on the dash, looked sweet and almost factory.
But a small suction cup mount unit would be best portability wide.
As far as the Gtech. I have one. Interesting toy, but in truth I have used it once in another car and never in the stang. It just sits in the box. You have to be able to come to a dead stop on perfectly flat ground to use it and have alot of room in front of you. Not too many places around here to do that without being handcuffed.
