Replacing the Shaker 500 HU only, worth it?

Just replacing the HU with NAV/DVD player, can I expect a dramatic improvement in sound quality or will it sound almost the same?

There are many threads on this subject on these forums, search and you will find them. I changed out my Shaker 1000 with a Pioneer DVD player HU unit and it made a huge difference. I am glad I made that modification. Go for it.

I went to Frys electronics here in Houston. I had to shop around a bit though to find installers that knew what they were doing. I learned alot from this forum, primarily in Audio Visual forum to know what to ask for. I found out that not everyone knows how to integrate a new HU unit into the shaker speaker and amp system. The good installers know exactly what to do. There are other guys in these threads that could walk you thru it if you want to install it yourself. I just preferred to let a pro do it.
