It's all rumors of course, but from what I've heard
2007 Z06 6.0L V8 @525 HP N/A $58k
2007 Cobra 5.4L V8 @515 HP S/C $45-50k
apparently the chevy people didn't like ford upping the cobra hp to above the c6 z06's baseline so they are aiming for more. I just hope that ford includes the aftercooler feature on the concept lightning, 50 HP for 30-45 secs at the push of a button. NAWS beware. The z06 will be running at 11 compression apparently

$45k would be a steal for that much stock horsepower compared to the Z06 and especially the $80k viper. I always love a good competition between manufacturers, the buyer always wins!!!

I thought that since carol shelby owns the name "cobra" that they were gonna cal it the "shelby" instead. I like "shelby" much more cuz its retro baby.

ey will have the shelby and the cobra. they won't just kill the cobra name off without a thought. i would guess the shelby would have a variant of the 03 cobra engine, say 450 hp. the cobra will still be top dog in the ford stable. except maybe the 05 bodied R model.
