FRPP and Factory Warranty Question
I want to install a FRPP Supercharger (Whipple) and want to know if it will kill the factory warranty or which part of the warranty it will kill. It would be installed at a Ford Dealership. Input please!!

RE: FRPP and Factory Warranty Question
i would think that if a ford dealership installed it and it was genuine ford parts, the warranty would still be honored. i'm not 100% sure that it would be that way with a supercharger but for the most part, most dealers say if they install it, the warranty still stands.

RE: FRPP and Factory Warranty Question
I would see if you can get a hold of the literature for it, I remember the Roush being advertised as upholding the factory 3yr 36k, and a dealer did not have to install it. Which is one of the reasons I have been looking at that one.

RE: FRPP and Factory Warranty Question
Either Ford or Roush is gonna depend on the LBS of boost. Stage 3 Roush is 4 or 5 lbs & < 400 RWHP, if you alter it, you void the warrenty, I'm sure the Whipple is gonna be the same. Don't think they are gonna let you have a 500 RWHP, 10 lb boosted Whipple, FRRP or Saleen and honor a warrenty, they are not that dumb

RE: FRPP and Factory Warranty Question
Read the beginning of the FRPP catalog. It answers your question, but to be more specific: ANY component failure that is in ANY way attributable to the modification performed (regardless of who makes the product or who installed it because FRPP is NOT the same part of Ford Motor Company that makes your stock vehicle. It is a special division of the company) will NOT be covered under your factory warranty. In other words, if you install a turbo from ANYONE and have ANYONE install it - unless the engine drops a valve - it will not be covered. One can relate pretty much any engine failure other than a broken valvespring to something like a turbo.
Know that this does not black flag your warranty in all aspects. It only means that if the failure can be related to the modificaion - it will not be covered. Engine or Driveline. You need to call a Ford rep and have them explain this to you for further questions.

RE: FRPP and Factory Warranty Question
Shaner is correct on this. Roush cover your warrenty work if they put thier supercharger on and set it up. If you change it, you void that warrenty and like I said, Roush limits you to 4 or 5 lbs of boost. There is no way FRPP is going to warrenty anything over 400 HP - it would surprise me if anybody did. They will warrenty & cover the supercharger, but not your drivetrain.
