Quick!!! What is this harness for?
I took out the center console to replace the headunit, but to my surprise under the console were 2 harnesess 1 that goes to the power plug under the center console and the other seems to be just liying there? or does it have to be connected somewhere, I need to put the car back together so any info would be great, in the you see the handbrake assembly and the two harnesess.
Thanx
James

RE: Quick!!! What is this harness for?
I've seen that before in other cars -- sometimes it is cheaper for the manufacturer to buy one harness that they can use across multiple styles and just not use some of the plugs etc. It may not apply to anything in the Mustang, but may be the same wiring harness as used in an Explorer for example and it is used for something in that application. I was changing oil in my son's Jeep Cherokee this weekend and when the air filter was removed there was a second pigtail that didn't connect to anything and was just hanging there.

I had the S500 and it had 2 harnesses, the other one controlled the subwoofers if I remember correctly...

According to that, it is the light for the shift selector on A/T. Since all of you dont have A/T, that would be why its not hooked up...lol, If you had something you wanted to light up and be able to dim with the dash lights, you could use it for that.
