'05 GT OEM intake modification?
How in the heck do I get this charcoal filter looking thing out of my OEM intake...
I have seen some people claiming 6 rwhp from removing it...
Any ideas?

When I took mine out, I just worked it side to side with a pair of needle nose pliers.....peeled back the rubber at the same time.....slowly but surely, it gave way and came out no problem.....

Sweet, thanks Mike...
Getting it past that inner lip on the inside of the tube is the hardest part.
I got it out now.
This will suffice until I can afford a C&L/SCT combo

Save your pennies for that intake and tuner combo. You WILL NOT believe the difference.....trust us.....
Take care,

RE: '05 GT OEM intake modification?
Just got back from a drive...
Things I noticed:
Louder initial intake sound
Louder exhuast
More lower end "kick"
Throatier sound on power.
Sweet...
If this gives 6 RWHP, I can only imagine a full 30 RWHP from an intake and tune. I am used to not getting 30 WHP from bolt ons on my old Honda... so it will be like, WHOA CRAP.
But is there a tuner out there with preset fuel/ignition/and timing maps, to where I can tune it myself?

I really don't think anyone will be able to tell the difference even if it's 6 HP and not something more realistic, like the 3 hp I've been hearing.
BTW, when was your mustang produced? Check the door sill badge.

It sits between the MAF sensor, and the throttle body in the intake tube...
And why would I not notice 6 HP?
Considering I am used to driving a Honda, where bolt ons get you no more than 1-3 hp, I think it would be a little bit of a jump, with some placebo effect involved, but oh well.... I digress.
It is louder and more responsive on the throttle, that is for CERTAIN.
And the manufacture date on my Mustang is 4/05
