did your tires also have a white caked on dust also. got mine from saleen as takeoffs. this really is annoying. i scrubbed and it wouldnt come off...just covered with the tire goop. pink dot still annoys me

It involves proper mounting or as it is reffered to as 'concentric mounting'. So if you think about it and a tire dealer knows how to properly mount tires, the dot should not be removed. This is in case the tire needs to be remounted and rebalanced. This is the cause of many minor vibrations in new tire mounting and balancing issues regarding shake or shimmy in the ride (steering). Trustme, some will argue this point but it is true, been there experienced it!

Yes they were lined up with the valve stem (although not that exact). You can remove the dot, just remark the location with a yellow pencil or the like should you be remounting the tire at a future point in time, should be close enough. (Did remount later to chrome bullits and no issues.)
