Default new to mustang what should i get?

i just got my 2006 ford mustang gt and it is a great car but i want to make it a little faster. what would be the first few things performance wise that i should get. i have around 2 grand and was thinking as of now an exhaust test pipes exhaust manifold and maybe a cold air intake. is this a good list and if so what brands should i get, who makes the best parts. plus is there a good engine management without getting a standalone ecu that i should look into. thanks for the help guys.

Please use the search tool of the forum and look for CAI and other terms. This questions is asked several times a week and there's plenty of info available.

PS Welcome to the forums.

If no one asked the same questions, this forum would be DEAD.

Definitely get one of these first http://www.brenspeed.com/mustang_2005/airkittuner.html

I've got the C&L and It's great!

Also look into getting 4.10 gears if you have a manual. and 3.73 if you're auto.

Also look into getting maybe some suspension mods. LCA's, Springs etc.

And if you got 2k, maybe save up another 2-3 and buy a Supercharger [8D]

Oh and Welcome!

if you dont want to go supercharger and its your every day driver heres what id do but this is me.....

CAI and Tune
-C & L and Brenspeed or B A M A

Exhaust set up
-Kooks LT's and X pipe
-Whatever your sound prefernce is on the exhaust just listen to various clips .... the slps and borlas sound good but thats my opinion its all about what you like sound wise

That should put you around 2 grand and later on maybe add some UDPs or Gears

Also if your going to the track a lot you might want to think about getting some drag radials

WELCOME!!!

Any info on how much horsepower that gave you, bro?
Or anyone who answers it would be nice to know exactly how much power your mods will/can give.

4.10's run outa steam at 120 on a 5-speed, go 4.30's for a manual and 4.10's for a auto...

You can spend 50 bucks on a turbo...nator

is this gonna be your daily driver>? if so i would stay away from 4.10. you will be shifting out of 1st to fast for it to be usfull.

Easiet mod would be to fill up with premium fuel, worth about 7-10hp on these cars.
CAI, Long tube headers, TUNE!!! Short throw shifter.

please stop saying that, its not true, you run out of 4th gear at around 120 mph, causeing you to shift into 5th gear which is a dog and a set of 4.30s will help you actually pull through 5th gear

CAI and tune and 4.10 gears auto, 4.30s manual
