Default I've got the dreaded hood shake

I never had it before. I was driving around 80 to 85 mph and I thought the hood was unlatched. I checked it and everything was ok. The hood feels like it's loose in the front on the drivers side but it looks like the bumper is all the way up. How do you adjust the bumpers, I assume just turn them from the top? Damn I've had this car faster than this before and never had the hood shake. I wonder why now. I've got 1100 miles on it.

I have an '06 GT that I just bought about 3 weeks ago, brand new. I noticed that my hood was moving, at around 60 mph. I, too, thought it was unlatched. Not moving alot, but you can see it rise up and down a little bit. The hood was closed and latched, I opened it, closed it, and its okay, although I still see it rise once in awhile, I'm so used to it , I don't really notice. (When I say move, I mean it rises maybe a 1/4 to 1/2 inch I would guess from the driver's perspective, its not like I'm afraid the hood is goona unlatch, come up and hit the windshield!) I notice it once in awhile, but since I know its latched, I'm ok with it....NOTHING is 100% perfect, not even a new car, there could be worse things going on, its just a "quirk",, no biggie!

Only adjust the bumpers so the hood matches the fenders, if it is still loose adjust the hood latch down. Be carefull the hood will bend!

all s197's will have hood shake at high speed. dont worry about it, and do said adjustments above^. it is a problem wiht the aerodynamics of the front end of our cars.

It's not a "problem".....it's a "feature". And like many comparable vehicles by US based companies, our cars are loaded with features.....

(not an am-slam; that's all I buy)

Think of it this way; You got a free shaker hood now [8D]

Get some hood-pins, there like 45 bucks and that'll help ya relax.

Very Good! I love a sense of humor! It's nice to see that not everyone on MF is **** Rententive.

Sorry for the poor description. What I meant was that the hood is moving around from front to rear on the drivers side. There is no vibration on the steering wheel.
