How strong is the glove box?

RE: How strong is the glove box?
Yeah i am sure there is probably some way to bypass it. Honestly though, If these guys are smart enough to bypass an alarm a glove box is definitely not gonna stop em. Just lock your car doors, that's the best defense. Oh yeah it's obvious that these guys are obviously breaking in to the "high end"(Caddy's, BMW's), they might not try to get into your car. I love our Mustangs and personally i wouldn't trade for anything, but its a ford, not a lincoln and they will probably keep on jacking Caddy's and BMW's. I would still be pretty cautious and keep a eye out.

Use the trunk, hell we all know theres no cabin latch for it,
only on the key-fob.But then agian if they want it bad enough....
Hey I know, hide it in the bottom of the "secret" cupholder.

Friend of mine had his Caddy broken in to in a manner whereas the alarm doesn't go off, so I told him I keep all my **** in my glove box, and i'm buying a gps unit which I will lock in there, so how strong is the glove box? Can you rip it open with lets say a long flat hear screw driver? I'm sure a crobar would pop it open but I doubt anyone will carry one around in a parking lot.

I've got an idea!! Get This! Just put it in your trunk and your good to go (you may have to remove your spare tire.) It also might slow you down a little....
Or you could just go with this....Might be a little costly.

Seriously though,

You can get something like that, and secure it to the frame of the car (not the seat rail like they showed.) Most thiefs won't have the tools on them to cut through thick metal wire.

you'll see two lenses on the dome light. Those are the optical sensors in the car.
Thanks! I was wondering what those were, I was in my car just the other day punching on the dome light buttons trying to make them come on!

RE: How strong is the glove box?
The only thing they didn't steal from my buddy was the Glock in the center console under a cloth. The cloth was undisturbed so he assumes they missed it. That safe looks pretty cool though, while you could cut that cord it should slow a thief down long enough for them to move on.
Ps. I think the monkey would be a little cramped in our trunks.
