Default 2006 Mustang GT convertible

I have an opportunity to install a Saleen Supercharger Series VI kit

What does everyone think about the Saleen Supercharger.

Will I have any problems?

What other mods should I do?

All I've done is cold air induction kit and Axle back Ford Racing Exhust (made by Borla) (and they sound great)! but I want more power!

Welcome ovrpar6. This is a great forum.

Don't know if you have a tune with that CAI but that would make a difference.

A Saleen supercharger should give you plenty of HP but there are always ways to get more and I'm sure you'll get plenty of feedback. Just a suggestion though - do a search and you will probably find lots of previous post about this (Saleen supercharger) with good information. Good luck!

The new GT Convertible is a fine car. It got great reviews in Car & Driver, Motor Trend, and many other publications. A supercharger will increase th horsepower but it will no longer be stock and may be more difficult to sell ro trade in. Could you trade in your car now and add $6000 and get a stock used Corvette?

I think the Saleen supercharger comes with a 3 yr/36K mile warranty - not sure about the Whipple - but good luck. It will be a fast convertible - comparable to a 429 if they were convertibles. Other mods you may need will depend on the boost.

Saleen is good, but not the best. I'd go with a Whipple or a Kenne Bell. I went with Kenne Bell, but if I had it to do over again I'd have a tough time deciding between the two. The whipple puts out a bit more HP, but I like the KB design and the way it feeds in fresh air from outside the engine compartment. I think this is fairly unique to the KB design. Most other S/Cs pipe it in fairly close to the stock location. If I am wrong on that I'm sure I'll get slammed, but I think that is the case. Here is a picture of my KB install. Notice the air intake location. Down in front, behind the bumper.

Don't worry about trade in time modding your car out adding SC or some other aftermarket parts is only a negitive thing if you giving it back to the dealer, it can only help you when selling in the trade mags or to private buyer.

Whipple is not bad but have you thought about a single or twin turbo, Just another option to think about.

I gotta disagree with you Stone; modifications hurt, rather than help resale of a late model car. Whichwould you want? A nice clean factory package, with verifiable and duplicatable specs, or some non-standard homebuilt thing which may or may not have been done right? and hmmm......do I assume that the 450 hp modified version has been babied? Or beaten?

Owners of modded cars do much better by returning their cars to stock and selling the parts separately.

Personally, I would NEVER buy a significantly modded used car unless it was really old. If I want to mod I'd buy it clean and mod it myself. When it's time to sell my mustang or my CTSV I'll be throwing back on the factory pipes....and e-baying the aftermarket ones....

Probably going with a Ford Drag pack

Shorty Headers, 4.10 gear (or 3.73), Short throw shifter, Pro-Cal, already have the cold air induction kit, lowering spring kit and underdrive pulley system.

Supercharger will have to wait.
