Default Revving up for a roll race?

Is it bad to do a 40 Roll and pop the clutch in and rev it up to 6000 RPMs and let out the clutch for a roll race? It really helps when racing but I don't want to do it if I am going to burn out my clutch [:@]

Burn your clutch? I'd be more worried about snapping a drive shaft with no safety loop, or snapping an axle at the least.

I don't see it doing any more damage than popping the clutch from a stop. Both will cause the clutch to wear out prematurely compared to not doing it at all.

Is getting a safety loop worth it?

@Moose: Ok, some people told me it was terrible on the clutch.

How does revving to 6k at 40mph and dumping the clutch really help? By the time you're revving then dumping the other guy is showing you why this is such a lousy idea. by letting you see how clean his taillights are. After you replace the clutch a few times you might learn the other reason why it's a real bad idea.

Could be just me that thinks this is a really bad idea?

Is running 40 mph shoving in the clutch, revving to 6.000 rpm and popping the clutch worth it? Wow!

Excuse me if i'm retarded!

doodad said he did it in a post a wile ago, and he said it help you alot, but I don't dump the clutch, I feather it out, it actually helps a lot, kinda like launching at a higher RPM I guess.
