Default 2007 shaker 500 -- audio input jack? also how is the skipping?

anyone have an 07 shaker 500 yet and able to tell us how the skipping is? I'm ordering my mustang with a 500 on the day after xmas with a shaker.

the dealership I'm working with showed me the audio input jack, but they didn't have the appropriate cable to hook up my ipod. Can anyone tell me exactly how it works? does the cable go from the headphones jack of the ipod into the audio input in the center console?

and how bout skipping, have they made any headway there?

Thanks all. By the way, MSRP for the mustang I want is 27,800 -- dealer invoice is 26,100 -- the dealership agreed to sell it to me for invoice. You think that's good, or should I push for more?

thanks all

I've had mine for a month now, and have not had any problems at all with skipping, but I've played mostly CD-R's with MP3 files on them. It does have some trouble reading some of my old cheap no-name CD-R's, but what happens with them is that it just tells you it's a bad disk.

As far as the audio input jack goes, it is a sub-miniature stereo jack. It's the same plug used for the headphone jack on most portable audio devices. The cable you'll need, in other words, has the same plug on each end, and goes from the headphone jack to the audio input jack. My XM radio receiver works great. You won't be able to control the ipod from the radio, BTW. I don't know if you were expecting that or not. You have to pick up the ipod and do anything like skipping songs, etc.

I have the Shaker 500 in my 2007. I have a Dell MP3 player and have used the AUX input to play audio from it. The audio is not as clear as it is from CD obviously because it is compressed, but I was hoping for better. I've gone back to using CD's, and with the 6 CD changer I can load a lot of music at once. I have not had any skipping problems whatsoever. As far as the cost, why don't you go over to Blueovalnews.com and register in the employee forums to get an X-plan pin? The pin gets you a lower price than invoice and I believe that all X-plan users right now qualify for an additional $500 rebate over and above whatever else is out there. Are they selling it to you at invoice plus the incentives? Ford is offering $1000 cash on all V6 and GT Mustangs (non-Shelby) plus $500 cash for X-plan users. It pays to get an X-plan pin because they cannot charge you any extra doc fees.https://www.axz.ford.com/axzweb/Offe...ceEventAXZ.pdf

I had no idea that the xplan was available for everyone, thanks SO much! I'm going to look at this more when I get home from work later.

my deal right now is invoice - any rebates that are available when I pick up the car in feb. this is great news, thanks

wait I'm a bit confused, is the xplan for people who are somehow affiliated with ford? I have no connections to ford at all... can I still request a pin?

I've had no skipping on mine since I've had it. I have all 6 discs loaded all the time.

X-plan pins are for anyone's use. You must be or have been, or be directly related to a Ford employee to use an A-plan pin, which gets you 4% below invoice. My A-plan got me $3200 off sticker before the $1000 rebate.

You don't need the PIN until you take delivery. Order away, then get the pin when the car comes in. Tell them you will be using an X-plan when you take delivery so they know.
