06 Roush24......... The rev limiter will NOTstop the car, in a "downhill" situation, it does'nt get the "chance".
Where I live,... we gotta 3.5 mile (downhill 5% grade) "straight as a poker", (local term)
In other words, the Stang/engine doesn't see/feel excessive RPM, so it let's the car keep winding to MAX RPM, which never occurs, because at 160mph+,!!! (it cranks around 5300rpm)andthat's PLENTY for me. Maybe, some "brave sole" can stay in it, and see/achieve 180MPH +, (not this white boy)
Hope you understand what we are saying / talking about. I understand on "flat /level" ground 149MPH is right around MAX to the REV limiter.

That's the truth about SoCal. Just don't do it between LA and Vegas... bunch of idiots driving on the 15. Try the highway heading north out of Baker towards Death Valley. Nice and straight.

I don't know how fast I was going, but I was pegged at 120, whereour speedos stop (V6). No doubt in my mind I was going faster though.
