Has anyone replaced their S197 Mustang GT seats with an after market racing seats? What did you do with those wires for restrain and seat belt sensors? J

I haven't put my seats in yet since they are a Christmas present and I technically don't have them yet. They are sitting by the Christmas tree. I've heard that you should go by the procedure in the manual to permanently turn off the seatbelt warning before removing the seats. Then take the wiring harness off the stock seats and put themunder the new ones. Without the harness, the car won't start. 1 person told me after doing that he had no CEL. Another guy has a CEL but the car will at least start. -Joe

Doesn't the passenger and driver airbag sensors become inactive when you switch seats? Does that mean the airbags won't go off in an accident?

It is a check engine light, which signifies something wrong or changed on your engine.
