add to that the 3.73 for the shelby GT.

Ain't no $HIT! Why can't Ford get it right? The Shelby 500 Gt can't even out run a basic Corvette. Ford should be f*cking ashamed. Something as easy as 3:73 gears could have changed the equation. Now I just realize your talking about the Shelby GT not the 500. But think though it could have made a difference. Even a CAI with a Fred tune that has made the quickest GT 500 possible.

Why should Ford be ashamed of that? The Corvette is another league.....even the base C6. Just throwing a bunch of horsepower at an inferior car does not always equal faster. The GT500 doesn't need 3.73 gears to beat a C6......it needs to go on a diet and get a nose job. That retro front fascia hits the air like a brick compared to the Vette.

Well one thing I can say the mustang drives a lot smoother than the corvette.According to the one I drove. It was a 2002 equiped with 405 horsepower and it drove like a go-cart from Frankies' Fun Park.

Well, that 2002 you drove with 405hp was probably a ZO6. The harsh ride is because that car is really intended for the track and not the street. The ride in a base C6 is really nice considering the performance that car offerswith touch of the go pedal. I am really impressed by the ride in a stock Mustang GT.......but less impressed with it's cornering behavior. It's a trade off of how hard a ride you're willing to live with vs necessary cornering ability.

I drove a 2006 base corvette and thought the ride was very good. It was extremly smooth and quick power. I don't think it was worth all the extra money over my gt thogh. I know it is quicker but it doesn't look as nice and I actually rell enjoy the retro interior in the mustang. Will be interesting the see the shelby gts when they come out. I think ford has a great idea with them. I know you can get better mods after market but for someone that wants a shelby and can't afford the gt500 this is a great move. Just my 2 cents though.
