Impressions of new 06 GT
Hi all, got a left over 06 GT with auto trans a month ago, so far so good at 1200 miles, things i've noticed about the car, I noticed water in the trunk right away, took the spare out and dried it up, this car stays under a car port and i really dont drive in rain, but i do wash it regular, havent noticed any further water in the trunk, or in the carpet or musty smell like some people are finding. I did see trans fluid on the concrete and went back to the dealer thinking it was TSB 06-10-5, they pulled the trans and the tech said he found it was overfilled at the factory and was pissing excess fluid out the vent tube, but he siliconed the bolt holes while he had it out. Havent had any other issues, no rattles or strange noises, some driveline groan at certain speeds, chalk that up to being a Ford, and a slight shimmy that comes and goes at 60 mph, same thing. I am running a brenspeed tune with a C&L intake, no other mods. I think these forums are great to see what others are dealing with, so far this car runs great but time and miles will tell.

RE: Impressions of new 06 GT
Yeah, its a nice car, i got it to replace an 04 Mach 1 that was totalled when i got rear ended at 40 mph. The Mach had better top end, but this GT pulls harder up to 100, and has a nicer ride and handling is way better. The Mach always felt hinged in the middle, this car feels way more solid. I do miss the driver seat from the Mach though, my GT is a premium with IUP but the seat seems kind of flat. Im still getting used to it but definitely a better built car, the gaps and tolerances in the body are light years ahead of the old body style.

RE: Impressions of new 06 GT
The only problems I've had with mine is that is hads been praked for 2 months due to "expected" Michigan weather.
Of course I dropped collision coverage expecting our regular 2 ft of snow by now and we have still yet to see any.
Oh well, My mileage will still be very low come spring time.
