Default Where are the side airbags in our cars located?

I am switching my seats tommorow hopefully, and I didn't know where my side air bags are. Are the in the door panel or what?

Also, anything special I should know before installing new seats?

They're located in the seats. Look along the seam that's toward the front edge of the front seats and you should see a small tag stitched into the seam that says "airbag".

+1 on the air bag... it says it! It's not standard on all vehicles so make sure you got it

Be careful if you have side airbags stock in your stang. If you remove them, the airbag light may illuminate on the dash. I don't know for sure if the side airbags are on that circuit, but I do know that all the others are. I had a buddy remove the passenger airbag to put a monitor in the dash (yea, stupid idea) and the dash light stayed lit, sensing the airbag was either absent or deployed.

So what exactly are my chances of that air bag deploying right in my face when I am changing the seats?

Check your manual first but i think you can shut off the airbags not sure about the side ones but the front ones you should be able to because it may not be needed (baby on board in front seat). [sm=icon_rtfm.gif][sm=sorry.gif]

Disconnect the battery and wait 10 minutes before working near the airbags.. You should be fine. They are an option in the stang for the side ones. You will have a tag on your seat and a slight buldge if you have them

yea, disconnect the battery and disconnect the harness under the seat before working on it. I'm not positive, but normally all wiring pertaining to the airbag systems are wrapped in yellow tape and are yellow/baby blue harnesses. If there's no juice to them, they can't blow. Install them and hook the harness up last, then the battery.
