I know that the Hurst wont help because it is a problem of the engine and trans misaligning with the body. Being that the shifter bolts toboth the body and the trans it is notletting the mechanisims line up like they are supposed to. This equals missed shift. TheTri-AX is a great shifter, and with theHEAVY spring centering it has to help with the third gear transition it is simply a internal alignment problem that will be cured by and torque limiting device. I just need to decide what to buy. Anyone have any experiances????????

I have ground third a couple times when I was in a hurry and let the clutch out to soon, but other than that, I have never had any of the problems described or thought anything bad about the trans. I love my 06 GT and everything that came with it. It has been so much fun to drive. +1 to FORD for the job done with the 05 and up changes.

I cant say about your shifter. Most people have a problem with third because they try to guide it.
I put the V of my lower palm (no fingers) against the left rear corner and preload in the general direction of 3rd.
2nd Gear, Full throttle, 6675 rpm, Kick Clutch, rpm jumps 150 rpm, BAM!, Chirp! 4500 rpm.
Ive missed it once in around 100 passes when I didnt kick the clutch hard enough.

When it happens to me I don't even grind gears, it just flat won't go in. I used the samemethod as Gene K and I got nothing, not even a grind. For those who haven't used the tri ax it is near impossible to miss 3rd beacse of the built in pre load to the middle of the pattern.

Just buy the CHE K-member brace with the torque limiters. You will love it. I bought the one with the poly bushings. I can now bark the tires when shifting into third. No worries. The steeda G trac won't do the same thing. You need the torque limiters to tie the transmission to the K-member brace. FYI, I'm using the Roush short throw and love it. It works with the stock shifter handle as well so you don't have to worry about finding a **** to fit.

Is this the poly bushing or competition rod end version?

I just ordered it.Only $180 shipped for the brace and limiters in standard black. I figure that It can't be seen under there so no color match for me. Margarita Girl, the one above is the poly bushing one, the race version is double sperical rod ends.

That's exactly what mine does. Tell us if the brace and limiters are the cure.
