Default Not impressed with tuner UPDATE!! LOOK

Well after chating with you all i decided to take it to the pro's. I went today to WNC Speed&Custom about 40 miles away to see what was up. After running the stock Tune back in the car we got 182.13 HP and 196.20 Torque on the dyno. Now we have a base line. We then run the tune from Brenspeed and the results were 2 more HP. Wow what a suprise!!!!!!!! I new I could not tell a differance when i got it. After the guys there played with it we got 198.26 HP and 212.72 Torque. Now that is a differance. A 16.13 HPand 16.52 Torque gain. Now for the fun part . On the last Dyno run we hit 5200rpm and 130.23 MPH when the Drive Shaft EXPLODED!!!!!!!! Guys were running everwhere including me. When i have a safe driveshaft back in they said to come back and he is sure he can get a little more out of it.John at (V6john ) helped me with the shift part of the tune, that again Brenspeed had left at 0 (Thats why i saw no differance in the shift). I uped it to a 25% pressure gain and WOW what a shift this baby has now! So I guess the moral of this story is, Dont always assume the tune is what it is supposed to be. Get it checked!!

Damn! 130mph. Stock drive shaft is rated at 115mph. PH has an after market, one piece drive shaft that is lighter than stock...and stronger. I have it on my car with no complaints.

Keep us posted! Glad you got a dyno tune, nice TQ btw!!!!

All I can say is WOW!!! What a difference in gains. Although I got my C&L/Tuner from Brenspeed with no problems, my programming was done here where I live, by a custom tuner. Maybe that makes some difference!! Interesting to know. Thanks for the update!

Dude I'm happy you got that mother running the way you want it. I was feeling bad for ya! Just try keeping that thing under a 100m.p.h. when I drive through North Carolina sometime because I don't feel like retrieving my driver's side door.

Wow... thats the first 2007 (clipped u-joints) driveshaft I've heard of coming apart... Other than the DS exploding sounds like you had a good tuning session...

Now about that 130 MPH... what gear were they dynoing it it???? LOL!

We don't go nearly that high in my car... usually right around 115...

The driveshaft exploding might be a sign that a V6 does not a V8 make. My brenspeed V8 tune makes 19 hp over stock.

The driveshaft is rated at 115mph stock. Guess thats why they speed limit it at 115!!

Most of the serious racers have switched out ot after market drive shafts on the S197, be it V6 or V8. If you plan to hit the track, I would definitely change out it.
Scrming man, I would definitely get one. Especially considering the plans you and MRT have for your car.

It's a vibration issue, not a HP issue...and the vibration issue is tied to MPH. Several of my V8 brothers have switched out thier drive shafts as well due to similiar issues. The stock drive shaft on both the V6 and V8 are crap IMO.
