Rear Decklid Blackout on Mineral Gray?

RE: Rear Decklid Blackout on Mineral Gray?
I say paint it like I did on my wifes 05 Mineral Grey. It has several advantages.
1. Don't have to worry about anyone stealing it.
2. Don't have to worry about water being trapped in back of it.
3. No tape required.
4. No drilling required.
5. Won't fade in the sun.

Good luck in your decision, now that I may have gave you yet another choice.

I have a friend with a Magnetic black out on a Tungsten Mustang. It looks great and the Magnetic blackout can be removed of course for cleaning underneath.

I went with the magnetic to get the idea of how I would like it. And I do! I take it off every other wash to get behind it. Once I did notice a spec or 2 of surface rust that just wiped right off. Keep the trunk waxed and clean. It does take a minute or 2 to get back on and aligned right.
All in all, a great $40 mod imo.
I have been tossing around the idea of having it painted tho.

I think you are right for your car as it is black, but I feel it will look good on your car as it is mineral gray. I don't like the honeycomb look but in the black mustang it defines it more. The smooth one on the mineral gray is great and a good contrast and you keep the emblem in the middle of the trunk lid. As opposed to the one mentioned above with the GT emblem on the offset. JMO

i like the honeycomb better myself. It has a more finished look on the car, the smooth one is just a little too plain.

Hey, I know I'm new here but I'm actually at a toss up if I should go with the CDC or just buy a magnetic one on Ebay. Sometimes I like the look of the fake gas cap, other times I think just a black decklid looks very clean. Especially with the black rear "diffuser" on the C/S bumper.
