Default Why "blacking-out" license plates on photos??

I was just curious as to why most of you guys are "blacking-out" the license plates when posting photos of your cars (like on the "Post your sexy coupes!!!" thread).

Do you know something that I don't............?

Its a good idea unless you have a blown v6, the cops cant catch those.

if you know the right procedures you can go to dmv and get registration info on anyones license plate, some states even do it online. All my stuff is protected by S&W and Colt soI dont usually worry about it.

it's because people can do crazy **** with your plate number just to be an ***...ie report you for drunk driving, report your car as stolen, report you have drugs in your car, report you have illegal mods, etc. plus cops go trolling here too for racing stories so they can charge you. always a good idea to block it out.
