Just removed my HCT(Hydro Carbon Trap) and my car turns on fine, sounds normal(No check engine lights, or anything), but I gave my car a little rev(2-3k) and the exhaust is popping now... The exhaust sounds really nice now lmao, just kinda scaring me because I am not used to the popping.

I also checked my air filter because I have about 3,000 on it and was seeing if I needed a new one.

Is this bad or what? My mom thinks it is back fire, and I don't want to **** anything up [&:]

Its simple the flow has thrown off your A/F ratio.. Either get a tune or put it back....

I noticed on my 07 GT/CS the stock intake did not have one on the car from ford.. looks like they got rid of it for the 07's

I thought it might be something like that, could I re-calibrate the MAF to get it to work, or would I have to shove the HCT back in?

I just slapped it back on, and its working fine...

Hey Ktown, when the 'o5's came out alotta ppl tried this with the same results, it needs tuned to accept the different a/f ratio. Try the K&N drop in, it makes a little more HP, and you have a million mile airfilter.

Everytime i start it, mine pops, too. The popping is caused by the tune that I have.
