100% Synthetic. After a couple thousand miles or so. Redline, Royal Purple, Mobil 1, etc.

If you've got the time and stamina for it, this article goes into detail on oils and why the author prefers synthetics. The short version, though, is that synthetics don't have the contaminants that 'dino' oils do which can cause sludge and build-up, and a smaller portion of the total volume of synthetics are additives, hence synthetics have more actual lubricant per unit of volume than 'dino' oils.

It's an interesting read if you're curious.

Very nice informational Link! Thanks for posting that. I do however think his 12k dino oil break in period is a bit off.

I tend to agree with you. However, it's worth noting that my Marauder's 4v 4.6 V8 was still limbering up and gaining newfound power at around 12,000 miles. It was the longest period of an engine loosening up and gaining power that I've ever experienced. I started using Mobil 1 5w30 synthetic in that engine starting at 1,500 miles. Possibly the superior lubricating properties of the synthetic oil made it take longer for the engine to loosen up? I don't know, it may be unrelated, but I've decided to run 5w20 synthetic blend in my Mustang GT's engine until 9,000 miles, at which point I'll switch it over.
