Default Superchips: Opinions urgently sought

Guys, I've been considering a tune for my '07 GT. It's already lowered, with a K & N CAI and Magnaflows, factory tune. I like the work they do at the performance shop which installed the above mods and they are pushing a Superchips tuner like this. Before I commit, I'd really welcome comments on this brand and any other advice that may be pertinent. I'd like to know whether a 91-Octane tune is the best way to go, whether the tune will jeopardise the engine's or drivetrain's durability (I drive the car quickly but not savagely) and above all whether it's as simple as the tech says it is to restore the stock tune for warranteed work and then switch back to the custom tune. Finally, what should I ask for (apart from some way to eliminate the throttle lag) when discussing my options?

That unit is pretty pricey -- I'd go with an SCT XCal2 from Brenspeed.com or a Diablosport, etc. Do a quick search on here for "tunes" or "tuner" and see what the general word is. I have not heard anything about Superchips, but remember, the tuner is only as good as the tune it uploads.

Remember, the tuner itself does nothing more (or very little more) than upload a tune to your car's computer. Therefore, most work exactly the same way. Go with a reputable shop which has experience with dynotuning our cars (not other cars... OUR cars), and get the tuner and tunes from them.

My combo is very similar to yours, and the difference was amazing!

It literally takes 2-3 minutes to return to stock programming and the same to get back to your performance tune.

I thought SCT stood for Super Chips Tuner. I think you may be looking at the newest model of the SCT. I could be wrong.
