Cammer in the S197?

Default Cammer in the S197?

Does anybody here either have a cammer motor in there car, or know of someone who tooke the 15K plunge?

I meant more along the lines of a street driven enthusiast's car, but thank you anyhow..

Not many people(Or any for that matter) have dropped 15k into an engine that has 400 BHP.

For 15k, you can get a Hellion Turbo(or a nice intercooled blower), stroker kit, forged internals, and everything else you want. You can make a ton of power on the stock, so there isn't much of a need to.

Well, since you can buy a complete GT500 engine for $14K, why would anyone want to buy a Cammer engine with 100less hpfor $15K?

Just like Ktown said, for $15,000 you can build up one hell of a motor that will produce a lot more power than the cammer.

The Cammer is built to fit into a very specific race class, where there are lot of restrictions on engine design as well as power output. It's a great engine--don't get me wrong--but why limit yourself to those racing rules if you don't have to? $15K will get you a lot more power through other means, and you'll still have cash left over!
