well if you got 1/4 of 87 just fill up with a few gallons of 100 and it will equal out to 91
and then, when the gas doesn't mix perfectly, and you hit a pocket of 87......BOOM!

Judas H. Priest!!! Was it sputtering to a stop at the pump?!? I've never run mine down quite that empty, but only because I'm afraid the thing's gonna die on me before I get to the pump (I've run out of gas and had to coast in to the gas station before due to a faulty gas gauge on an old pickup I used to drive).

How in the world did you manage that?

Lol, I drove up n down the street by the gas station until it read 0 miles, went a few blocks to station, and filled er to the rim! No sputters. But its good to know how far the gauge actually goes down until you run out.

Two of my friends (brothers) took a wrecked VW Buggy and made it ino an awesome car. First time driving, car died with 2/3 of a tank of gas left. Turns out the gas gauge in the cars back then were adjustable...

87 and 100 will mix together bringing the one octane up and the other down and it will balance out. Its not they dont mix and youll have just 87 and 100 in the tank

The overage might be what's in the neck of the filler tube...
