LT's and inspection in Texas

RE: LT's and inspection in Texas
Ford_Dude: I just went Sunday. The weather was good and the track was prepped well but there were a ton of cars there. Still had a blast. That was only my 2nd time to so since I got my car (May 2006).
jerjan: From what i've seen, the short tubes only give 5 or so hp to the wheels. I would guess there would be no change in exhaust sound since it's not a drastic change from stock but i could be wrong.

The law is very rarely enforced....much like Jaywalking, the chance of getting busted is very low.

If I didn't have bad luck I'd have no luck at all.

I have had the pleasure of being ticketed for BOTH loud exhaust AND for Jaywalking (NYC area, long ago). Though....not at the same time.

Though, loud exhaust is quite different than headers. If your car has loud exhaust, it is instantly obvious. A cop doesn't even have to get out of his car to tell your exhaust is loud. However, headers are something that cannot be seen or heard without serious effort. To get busted for headers you'd have to be pulled over for some other reason FIRST. Then, he'd have to look under your hood AND recognize what he sees as illegal...if he even notices the headers at all.

Interesting about Texas since I'll end up there eventually. When I had my CJ8 Jeep in Phoenix, I replaced the engine and of course exhaust. First thing that went was all the emission crap. We had property up north, so I went there, dug a whole, and planted a mailbox. Went to the Post Office and established an address. Registered my Jeep there since they didn't have emissions testing.

I keep my car registered in a non emissions county even though it is a long drive (90 miles).
I claim it as my primary resesence. (I am a Contract Design Engineer)
