The 100 octane is also known as avgas and you can get it at airports that handle general aviation....
I have that Motor Trend article somewhere, and that Livernois car sounded "slapped together" and encountered numerous problems while they were beating the crap out of it to get test numbers. It also failed the california emissions test....Price was listed as $70K.

it was a 25 cent retaining clip that caused an big oil leak that ruined their runs
