b y the way on the gtech website they say the gtech is more accurate than a vbox only for the 0 to 60mph... 0.2mph against 0.4mph

The VBOX performance box (brand new product not in our catalog yet) is 499. The VBOX driftbox (one level up with ability to record drift angles) is 749.99. These can do more than any GTECH model and are far more accurate. They include software to analyse, compare and store your results.

I just bought the Escort Passport GT2 for $55 shipped. Been playing with it for about a week when it's not raining and seems to work pretty good. Not bad for just screwing around with 1/4 mile times, 60', and 0-60 which are th only parameters I care about right now.

Shhhh.... :-) My new Rad Support is hanging in the garage...it was blue, now it's red. :-) Plus have more stuff in the mail. I got the GT2 on Amazon. Just checked...went up to $77. Still better than a couple of hundred.

Assuming all the variables are properly controlled, it is possible. However, for anyone that has ever actually used a gtech back to back, you will see that it is not very consistent. In fact , the recommend you make multiple runs and average them. You can manually compensate with the newer versions of the GTECH if you have a drag strip to compare too. Of course, if you go to another vehicle, now you have to repeat. The GTECH's are also usually quite a bit off on MPH readings. It's still a great tool (we sell them too) but not in the same league as the VBOX

Ford rates the GT at 5.1 seconds, but I believe Road & Track testeda GT that got 4.9 seconds.
