DRIVESHAFT WARRANTY ????

As some of you may know my Mustang's been at the dealer for a little bit now, (had a fuel pump replaced, also had the pcm re-flashed,new headlight assembly, etc.) And the last thing they are supposed to be fixing is this intermitant vibration/hum which I thought was coming from the front axle. I also complained about how I expereince a ridiculous and obnoxious vibration throughout the entire cabin when I do a quick launch or step on it at a low speed. Ford calls me up today saying they've ordered me a new driveshaft and believe that those to issues are due to a faulty drive shaft... I thought I had bad bearings in the front wheels or somethings to that effect but a whole new driveshaft?!?!?! Is it just me or does that sound a little crazy??

p.s. Its an 05 GT Manual with about 8k....

RE: WARRANTY DRIVESHAFT????

sounds a whole lot like wheel hop. IF the drive shaft fixes it let us know.

RE: WARRANTY DRIVESHAFT????

Different people have told me that looks like the case as for the strong vibration...
~QUESTION~ Are we as Mustang customers supposed to accept wheel hop since its a rear wheel drive muscle car with HP?? Or is it something we should count on Ford fixing/making better???

As for the intermitant hum in the front several people told me my bearings are out of whack...

RE: WARRANTY DRIVESHAFT????

No tech worth anything would mistake wheelhop for a drivetrain vibration. However, if it were the driveshaft it would not be limited to acceleration. Foprd won't pay them for the warranty work if they change out a perfectly good part. Something sounds funky.

Our wheel hop is NOTHING like IRS wheelhop. More hop in the cold weather is not unusual; the tires are colder.

I have no complaint with my wheel hop.

RE: WARRANTY DRIVESHAFT????

buy some aftermarket control arms! Not everyone wants the added noise from the stiffer bushings, some people want a smooth comfy ride. So no ford should not have to fix wheel hop and they would probably laugh out loud if you asked them to.

Do you have an aftermarket exhaust?
